Technology Specific P&PWhat to LearnAs we move further through this course, we may often reference Policies and Procedures and how they are applied to the different technologies or scenarios we will experience in an entry-level IT position.
Depending on your background you may already be familiar with some of the standard corporate policies and procedures that are implemented across organizations. For reference can be things like; Head & Safety Guidelines, Code of Conduct Policies, Confidentiality P&P, and things like Social Media and Internet usage policies.
Like other aspects of the IT world, policies and procedures will DIFFER from one organization to another, one of your responsibilities as an IT Professional is to understand and work within the different policies and procedures for each organization. This type of information should be explained and outlined to you during your onboarding process but should also always be available to you via resources like employee handbooks or employee resource portals.
When it comes to the world of Information Technology there are also specific policies and procedures that are implemented into organizations that the IT department must follow, but the organizations must adhere to as well.
